A number of different activities are available for children.
- Pond dipping
- Studying stream side wildlife including an otter holt.
- Cleaning and observing nest boxes.
- Looking at the diverse flora and fauna of traditional hay meadows.
- Finding out about organic farming and animal production.
- Looking into the wildlife and management of woodlands and moorland.
Visits usually start in one of the farm buildings where the children
are offered organic refreshments before being given instruction
about the visit. Depending upon the season and weather conditions
the children are then taken to look at some animals, given a tractor
and trailer ride up to the hill ground, given shearing and sheep
dog demonstrations.
